Introduction
Acura introduced the TSX sport sedan in the United States in 2004. Essentially an upgraded version of the European Honda Accord (which is smaller than the U.S. version), the TSX featured a
200-hp, 4-cylinder engine and amenities such as leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats and a host of technology features.
The European Honda Accord is redesigned for 2009, and the TSX is following suit. After a successful 5-year run, Acura has unveiled the next-generation TSX. Due to go on sale in April as a 2009 model, the new TSX is larger in every dimension than the car it replaces. It continues with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, and the heaping helping of amenities is enhanced with such available features as DVD Audio, XM Notes, and Traffic Rerouting for the navigation system.
Like the previous model, the 2009 TSX will have 4 doors, seating for 5, and a split-folding rear seat. The new platform is 3 inches wider and 2.4 inches longer overall, the track is 2.6 inches wider, and the wheelbase grows by 1.3 inches.
